Dear Academy Families,

All 11th and 12th graders will be going on a "retreat" to Glen Park! We will gather at school for breakfast, walk down the canyon to the park, then have a day of community building, team competitions and fun. Students will be dismissed from Glen Park after lunch.

If you would like to contribute a dish to the potluck lunch at the retreat, please drop it off in the office on the morning of the 18th and we will make sure it gets to Glen Park later on. Thank you!

The Culture and Climate Survey is part of our school’s and our district’s accountability system and is one way we are measuring the Culture and Climate of our school

  • The family Culture-Climate survey is one important way to help us understand how families feel about our school and their child’s learning, and how our school can improve.
  •  It is very important that we get as many of our families to respond as possible so that we have data that truly represents the whole school and not just a few people. Everyone’s voice is important!
  • The survey is available online and is translated into Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Arabic. Here is the link for our school-specific survey: - School Number: 832
  • We are asking families to fill out the online surveys from the February 12th through April 27th.
  • This survey will be anonymous. We will track how many families have completed the survey, but we will not know what any individual says on any question.
  • Parents with multiple children in this school should fill out one survey for each child. If you have children in another school, you should fill out a survey at that school as well. htt://

Many students are eligible for free meals. To see if your child qualifies, please apply online at . It only takes a few minutes to apply! Just remember we always have hot lunches for the students. It is always good to know that the students have this as an option since we know there are times when the students are unable to purchase their lunches or forget to bring their bag lunches to school.

Remember that at you can log-in to the Family Portal to communicate with your student’s teacher, check homework, grades, and attendance. You can also see the school’s calendar of events and receive important reminders. If you have not received your Activation Code in the mail by now, please call the Main Office and ask for one.

To report an absence, please call the attendance line at: 415-695-5701 or e-mail Mr. Brendan McCarthy at
