Leader of the Pack celebrates student achievement & contributions at our school.


The Leaders of the Pack this week are:

  • 9th grade: Roxanna Ramirez for thoughtfully considering science questions, leading her science teams, and staying responsible for her assignments.

  • 10th grade: Melody Hway

  • 11th grade:  Amy Li, because she is a serious academic student who brings a mature and cooperative attitude everyday to class.  

  • 12th grade: TBD by Ms. Smith

  • Staff by Staff: TBD by Ms. Magnesi


Staff vs. Students Basketball Game!

This Friday is the annual Staff vs. Students Basketball Showdown! The game will take place during advisory period in the gym. We will also be celebrating Honor Roll students and we have some great halftime performers lined up, so you don’t want to miss it!

Black Student Union (BSU)

If you want to participate in BSU events and activities, come to the Black Student Union meetings on Tuesday at Lunch. Come be a part of the action. Bring your ideas and spirit.



Join the Gender and Sexuality Alliance! Meetings are every Monday in Mr. Coleman’s Room: Room 136.


Latinx Unidos Club

Come join our Latinx Unidos club. We meet on Mondays during lunchtime in the Wolf Den. All students are welcome. Please join us to celebrate our diverse Latino cultural pride! We will not be meeting today but will begin meeting next Monday the 14th at lunch time.


W-cubed (Wednesday Writers Workshop)

Wanna write creatively? Come join our Wednesday Writers Workshop in room 135 during lunch every Wednesday. Free write, Workshop your stories, or develop craft through writing prompts.



All absence notes should be turned into the attendance box outside the main office or to Brendan in the main office. An excused absence list is sent to all teachers so any missed assignments can be turned in.

Go to to purchase shirts, sweats, hoodies, jackets, hats, bags, and blankets! It also has all our updated sports info for the year.



Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Basketball teams for their wins over the break! The Boys play at home tomorrow at 5:30 against Leadership and Thursday at SFI. The Girls head to Gateway on Friday for a 4pm game.


Boys Soccer plays at Galileo tomorrow and at Crocker Amazon on Thursday against SFI.


Girls Soccer plays at home on Wednesday against SFI and at Kimbell against Wallenberg on Friday.


Important Announcement about Spring Sports!!! All students interested in playing Badminton, Baseball, Fencing, Girls Flag Football, Softball, Track & Field, and Boys Volleyball should see the Athletic Director to sign up AND also should be turning in their paperwork to be eligible. If you have not set up a physical exam with your doctor, make an appointment as soon as possible.

Teacher/Staff Assistants positions are only semester long and if interested students need to re-apply for positions for this Spring semester. Deadline is Monday 1/14.




Here is a quick update on the new changes happening in the Wolfden. Starting Tuesday we will have a new staff member on board. Her name is Cherelle, she will be working with us every Tuesday/ Thursday.  Please come by and say hello, trust me she is awesome!!


Also, a reminder that MWF Eric is here to inspire you to do some artwork, so if you have any visions of art you would like to make happen come see him!

Project WHAT

Are you a child of an incarcerated parent? Or had a parent who was incarcerated? Then join Project WHAT! Project WHAT! is a paid program that will start soon here at Academy. Yes, we said Paid!  The Project WHAT! club will discuss the impacts of incarceration on families, bring in dynamic guest speakers to talk about their experiences and more.
